Our Mission
AI Safety UAE is a multidisciplinary initiative advancing safe, secure, and beneficial AI development in the region. Our mission is to catalyse collaboration, literacy, and governance frameworks that align advanced AI systems with human and national interests.
Our north star is solving UAE-specific AI Safety issues in line with the UAE's plans to be the first AI nation by 2027.
Vision Forward
- Expand across the GCC with partnerships in academia, industry, government, and media.
- Launch an AI Safety Certification and local fellowship program for applied research.
- Serve as an advisory bridge between UAE institutions and global AI governance initiatives, aligning with GAFAI’s mission to promote research, education, and development in AI, ensuring its ethical and beneficial application for society.

AI safety specialist and fintech leader with 15+ years in
tech, focused on AI alignment, governance, and resilient systems.
Naiyarah Hussain
Senior engineer in AI safety and reliability with
leadership roles at IBM, Lightning AI, and SurrealDB, and
contributor to global multilingual AI datasets.

Advisor in AI Policy and Strategy with experience across
the Middle East, Latin America, Europe, and the USA.
Mohamed Yasser
A Software Solutions Architect with a distinguished career
spanning over 19 years, renowned for designing and
